Maggie Stafford, a typical Hufflepuff loser. Already she had spilled a plate of eggs in her lap, bitten her cheek and choked on her orange juice, and she had only woken up an hour prior to all of this happening. The day was not starting out as well as she hoped, and try as she might, hiding all of these unlucky things did not help her one bit. She was trying not to cry, holding back her tears while she wiped the stains left from her eggs angrily away. It didn't help. All it was doing was rubbing the eggs into her robes. What she wouldn't give to be able to produce a cleaning charm just then.
The life she had been used to had been ruined, all because Hogwarts decided to keep her safe and sound. She hadn't been able to find her brothers yet, and to be honest, was scared. Maggie was a mess. Emotional. Unable to see the others around her who had found their families a good thing. Being clumsy only added to her strife.
"Seriously." She whispered, not to anyone in particular, only to hear herself complain.

Cody had been sitting, attempting to read through his English lesson, but was sidetracked in watching a Hufflepuff who seemed to be having a hard time. He had to bite his own lip to keep from smirking as she dropped her eggs, winced in sympathy as she seemed to bite her cheek--given the look of pain she had--and by the time she choked on her orange juice, Cody knew he had to speak with this girl.
The castle had been on edge since the switch, he had only decided to take it with a grain of salt, though he was worried having no news from his brother, Sage, or even his parents. He had only spotted his pesky little sister a couple of times, but she cared not speak to him at the moment. He expected it had been due to the freedom this switch had brought about. Everyone had figured out contact with the outside world was not possible, so she had taken to living life her own way until she had a chance to get into trouble. Cody didn't mind much, it wasn't like he was her keeper.
"Hi." He said, sliding in the seat next to Maggie and nodded toward the mess she had created. "Tough morning, eh?" He snorted slightly, then pressed his lips together to keep from laughing too much.
"I'm Cody." He extended a hand. "Felt like you may have needed a friendly face to vent to between catastrophes."

At first Maggie glared at the boy who had so rudely sat himself down beside her...and then she saw his eyes and blushed. Great she thought. More embarrassment to add to my day, looking like a complete idiot in front of a hot boy
She tried her best smile, though it wobbled, and decided just to look back at her empty plate to keep from making a bigger fool of himself, then he extended his hand. She was shy upon taking it, not wanting to let go when she grabbed it, and very quickly tried memorizing the feel of it. It was warm, and strong.
"Maggie." She said, quietly introducing herself, though her voice didn't exactly make it out as strongly as she had hoped. She was like this with all boys she found good looking. She hated herself for it, wondering how some girls could be so assertive. He was looking at her again, and she blushed, diverting her eyes back to her plate.
"It's actually been a decent morning." She said. "You should have seen yesterday, I tripped up the stairs and spilled my entire book bag all over the ground. I don't know if Miss Sprout is going to appreciate my homework having footprints all over the pages." She pouted slightly, then turned to Cody. His tie of silver and blue put him into Ravenclaw.
"Do you enjoy being in Ravenclaw?" She asked, looking down at her own tie. Hufflepuff wasn't exactly a house to brag about, but she thought that it fit her well. Anyone with her sense of aloofness definitely belonged in Hufflepuff.[/i]

"Maggie." He repeated. "Nice to meet you." He laughed lightly as she explained her morning the day before and have a nod. "We've all been there." He said. "If it wasn't for the magic being gone, I would have blamed it on the stairs. They can be tricky at times, you know." He gave a nod at her next question. Ravenclaw had been part of the family pride; everyone back his his great-great-great grandparents had been sorted into Ravenclaw from those who attended. The Hamil's had been a part of Hogwarts history.
"I love it, though the pressure to be smart can be tring." He said. It wasn't too bad, though. The learning came easy, it was the concentration he had to give what made it hard. "Best house in Hogwarts." He said with a playful wink. He had noticed her Hufflepuff colors even before seeing the girl sit down, and always cringed. Yellow was not a favorite color of his and at times felt bad for those who had to endure wearing it.
"One of my best friends is in Hifflepuff. Hubbs? Walker Hubbs? Quiet guy, usually tends to stay out of drama as much as possible." Cody had met Walker back in his second year. He had liked to think he took pity on the boy, having been a first year at the time and had seen him get picked on one too many times for his liking. Along with Russel, his other best friend, they had taken Walker in and raised him to be a 'Hufflepuff Hottie.' Sometimes Cody even found himself jealous at the attention he received. There was a good chance that Maggie had seen him around once or twice,
"If you don't know him, you should. He'd love to meet you."
